Creating brand assets, made-to-measure

In its simplest form, metrology is the science of measurement. Hurll Technical Services offers a range of metrological services, including assessment services to international accreditation bodies like UKAS and Norwegian Accreditation, along with providing training and consultancy to laboratories worldwide.

Beginning with their new website, Hurll Technical Services, commonly known as Hurll Tech, wanted to upgrade their old website to a clean and professional one-pager website, that explains the science of metrology while advertising their range of metrological services. To achieve a minimalist design, we prioritised white space throughout the site, restricted the number of colours used in the design and produced simple visual assets, such as the hero background video. Overall, we were able to produce a small, professional-looking, fully responsive website which acts as a great platform for people to discover metrology and how it impacts our everyday lives.

A logo to celebrate the atomically small and hard-to-measure

The logo's atomic design embodies the precision and meticulousness required by highly trained metrologists, to ensure accuracy in their measurements. By incorporating the letter 'H' within the logo, we were able to create a unique, scientific and professional appearance.

An explainer video showcasing the value of accurate measurement

Metrology is a science that is not widely known but it plays a vital role in numerous aspects of our daily lives, from purchasing groceries at the supermarket to ensuring the safety of our vehicles. Hurll Tech tasked us with producing a brief explainer video on this fascinating field of science. After creating the storyboard, writing the script and recording the voice-over, we brought the animation to life inside After Effects. The end product was an easy-to-understand animation that simplifies a complex topic, by highlighting the importance of precise measurement in our everyday lives.
